Body of Ash — Shipping & Fulfillment

Because we reject mass-market factory production, every artifact from Body of Ash is individually sand-cast and hand-forged to order with minimal tools at our coastal foundry. When you buy a piece, you are securing a spot in our daily pour schedule.

By completing your purchase, you acknowledge and agree to the production and transit timeframes detailed below.

1. Production Lead Time (The Wait Before Shipping)

  • The Schedule: All rings require a 1 to 2-week production window before they are packed and shipped.

  • Why it takes time: We limit our output to roughly 4 pieces cast daily. This timeframe covers the technical preparation of your raw sand mold, the crucible melt, the pour, and the coarse, industrial hand-finishing of your ring.

  • Updates: You will receive an email confirmation when your order is placed, and a second notification with tracking data the moment your ring leaves the forge.

2. Domestic Shipping Timeframes & Rates (Australia)

Once your 1–2 week production window is complete, your package is dispatched from our foundry via Australia Post.

  • Orders under $300: Standard Shipping is $10.00 AUD. Express Shipping is $15.00 AUD.

  • Orders of $300 and above: FREE Standard Shipping is automatically applied at checkout.

Please note: Delivery to regional areas (including Western Australia, Northern Territory, and remote parts of QLD) may experience slightly longer transit times.

3. International Shipping

We ship worldwide to ensure our relics reach global collectors.

  • Transit Time: 6 – 14 Business Days depending on destination country customs clearance.

  • Duties & Taxes: International customers are responsible for any local customs fees, import duties, or VAT levied by their destination country upon arrival.

4. Order Cancellations & Modifications

Because we source precious metals and pack individual sand molds specifically to your size immediately after order confirmation:

  • Cancellations: You may cancel your order for a full refund within 24 hours of purchase.

  • Commencement: Once production or pouring has commenced after the 24-hour mark, orders cannot be canceled or changed due to the custom nature of the work.

  • Sizing: Please ensure your ring sizing is accurate before ordering. Because these are heavy, raw bands cast directly to your specifications, resizing post-pour requires significant technical labor.

5. Lost, Damaged, or Delayed Shipments

  • Delays: While we guarantee our production windows, transit delays caused by Australia Post or international couriers are outside our direct control.

  • Consumer Guarantees: In accordance with the Australian Consumer Law, we ensure your goods arrive safely. If your package is confirmed lost in transit or arrives with a major technical defect, we will immediately fast-track a replacement pour or provide a remedy at no extra cost to you.

How to set this up in Shopify:

  1. Go to Settings > Shipping and delivery.

  2. Next to your shipping profile, click Manage.

  3. Under Standard Shipping, add two rates:

    • Rate 1: Based on item price. Range: $0.00 – $299.99. Price: $10.00.

    • Rate 2: Based on item price. Range: $300.00 and up. Price: Free ($0.00).

  4. Name the free rate: "Standard Shipping (1-2 Week Production + 3-6 Day Delivery)" so customers see the timeline right at checkout.
